Welcome BFD Readers

Just a quick welcome to everyone who has found this blog from the link and post over at Big Fat Deal!

It's so strange to have readers now! The first month or so I wrote this it was just for myself. Then Bell, and Marina and Sean - my friends-in-crime. Then I started to let a few other cool folk know - including Mo at BFD.

Now here we are! Thanks for reading and thanks for your emails and comments!

  1. How the world has changed since my own working-girl days in the late '70s & early '80s! You're putting yourself out there on the internet! WOW!

Must say, when I was in the life, I weighed in at a very firm & fabulous 240-250 & was a size 24. Had more clients than I could handle and it was very rare that I got one just because of size. Some may have wanted a big girl & just not said so to my face, but I don't think that was it.

I applaud your getting out there & doing it; were I 30 years younger, I'd put my now smaller (size 18) body up against yours any day & let the best woman win!

By the way, if you can find a copy, there's a fabulous book called "Filles de joie", a coffee-table sized number in praise of the working girl. Great artwork & photos, really interesting reading.

  2. Hey, I subscribe to BFD, and as soon as I saw their post about you, I knew I had to come and visit. I read your archives, and consider me a loyal follower. As someone who likes to refer to themselves as a "functional sex addict" I have always wondered about sex work, and about what kind of reaction I would get as a plus size escort. Thanks for putting this out there.

  3. another random poster from BFD to say thank you for this blog! Sex work is something that i've considered before but never more than a passing thought, until now. You're stories are addictive and interesting.

  4. "Functional sex addict" - I love it cleofaye! Some days I think that's what I am.

Thanks for the book recommendation too Anon - I'd love a book like that so will check it out. And by the sounds of it I should be glad you're no longer working - you sound like you woulda been staunch competition!
